Comment: I looove Fishbones so much! I've been smacking my friends with the link to read it. <3 I was all Fermos at first, but now, seeing Paul in a different light, Paurris looks too cute. Ask: Your style for Fishbones is considerably different than Gorge, how did you learn to draw and do you have any tips for developing style?
I used like the idea of pairing Demos and Ferris too, until I read “Fishbones” comic script. Paul just sounded ridiculously cute and hopeless…he needed my support. I’m happy to hear that there are people that likes the idea of Paurris. Thank you!
I’m not sure how I even managed to learn how to draw. I don’t ever practice, and most of the time I have to look at myself in the mirror to draw poses a lot. If I practice, I probably won’t have to do that much.
As for styles, I’m not sure about that either…sorry! I found out that I like to try different styles from time to time, and I pick two major styles I am most comfortable doing for two of our webcomics. Then I just stick to that.
As for Fishbones though, sometimes Ji tells me to draw some things in certain way, so it can look like her style. That helps, too.
Disregarding the long rant, my personal advice I can give to any artist is: try to finish whatever you’re trying to do, no matter how bad it looks. If you don’t ever finish anything, you’ll never find a way to get better. [/shut up, Yuki]
